Things Mom Don't Want their Daughters to Say After the Prom

9. “You know, I didn’t see any chaperones.”

8. “I thought you meant be home by two the next day.”

7. “And then I used my fake ID to buy drinks for everybody!”

6. “I’m actually not sure whose shirt I’m wearing.”

5. “Hey, watch me blow smoke rings!”

4. “The inside of the band’s bus was really, really dirty.”

3. “I learned a new dance called ‘freaking’ last night!”

2. “Guess what? I signed a freelance modeling contract after these guys took my picture!”

1. “Yeah? Well Dad told me all about your prom night and this doesn’t seem so bad.”

A Little About Myself: A Serious Post

A little about myself now.

First of all, my real name is Anemone.

I started this blog several months ago and basically posted stuff, mostly pictures, as a way of getting around doing serious writing, which is supposed to get me beyond this superficiality.

Because, let's face it, I'm superficial.

I'm a California surfer girl, living in San Diego.  That sounds as vacant as hell.  I was married briefly; but the problem was about 60-65% me.  Right now, he is living in Alaska.   I think that we're really compatible; but not as marital partners.  I would like to make a baby with him someday.  And maybe spend winters with him.  I think we could make the place in Sitka cozy.

I went to a state university in-state for a little over two years.  I live with my Mama (also divorced).  We get along fine; I work in a souvenir shop.  I see Pop occasionally, and get along with him too.  He's living with a woman whom I get along with okay.

I'm kind of religious; but nothing involving the heavy stuff.  Actually, I'm more into nature religion, if that is something of that.  I try to keep my chakras balanced, so I do yoga and surf.

I like to travel.

Reading all this you might think I'm the most self-absorbed person on the West Coast, but this is just my atempt to be honest.  No pretense.  It is supposed to be good for the soul, whatever that is.

I'm a Padres fan, so I'm acquainted with disappointment.
