North to Alaska

As I contemplate the annual visit to Sitka in late October, I am reminded of how chilly and windy it can be; followed by the Alaskan cold.

At least there's Alaska Ale!

But the confines of the small town give me feelings of being stir crazy by January!

It's hard to find advacados in the winter.  And I lust for them, like sex cowgirl-style and fresh strawberries.

And there's nowhere to get a bikini waxing.

Still, there's a plentitude of salmon.  Salmon steaks and smoked salmon.

And guitar music.

Just Ramblings

My recent visit to Sitka went well, it guess.  The sex was good but no baby.  Now I'm at home with Mom and working part-time at her gift shop.

It's too cool for surfing, only early March.  The Padres are into spring practice, and things are early blooming.

I think this guy from a store nearby wants me.  He gave me a gentle, polite feel in the stockroom seemingly out of courteousness.

I can't make heads or tailes out of sequesteration.

Or much of life.

The Proper Identification

Paddy the Irishman died in a fire and was burnt pretty badly. So the morgue needed someone to identify the body. His two best friends, Seamus and Sean (also Irishmen), were sent for.

Seamus went in and the mortician pulled back the sheet.

Seamus said "Yup, he's burnt pretty bad. Roll him over".

So the mortician rolled him over.

Seamus looked and said "Nope, it ain't Paddy".

The mortician thought that was rather strange and then he brought Sean in to identify the body.

Sean took a look at him and said, "Yup, he's burnt real bad, roll him over".

The mortician rolled him over and Sean looked down and said,"No, it ain't Paddy".

The mortician asked, "How can you tell?"

Sean said, "Well, Paddy had two assholes."

"What, he had two assholes?" said the mortician.

"Yup, everyone knew he had two assholes. Every time we went into town, folks would say, "Here comes Paddy with them two assholes."

Things Mom Don't Want their Daughters to Say After the Prom

9. “You know, I didn’t see any chaperones.”

8. “I thought you meant be home by two the next day.”

7. “And then I used my fake ID to buy drinks for everybody!”

6. “I’m actually not sure whose shirt I’m wearing.”

5. “Hey, watch me blow smoke rings!”

4. “The inside of the band’s bus was really, really dirty.”

3. “I learned a new dance called ‘freaking’ last night!”

2. “Guess what? I signed a freelance modeling contract after these guys took my picture!”

1. “Yeah? Well Dad told me all about your prom night and this doesn’t seem so bad.”

A Little About Myself: A Serious Post

A little about myself now.

First of all, my real name is Anemone.

I started this blog several months ago and basically posted stuff, mostly pictures, as a way of getting around doing serious writing, which is supposed to get me beyond this superficiality.

Because, let's face it, I'm superficial.

I'm a California surfer girl, living in San Diego.  That sounds as vacant as hell.  I was married briefly; but the problem was about 60-65% me.  Right now, he is living in Alaska.   I think that we're really compatible; but not as marital partners.  I would like to make a baby with him someday.  And maybe spend winters with him.  I think we could make the place in Sitka cozy.

I went to a state university in-state for a little over two years.  I live with my Mama (also divorced).  We get along fine; I work in a souvenir shop.  I see Pop occasionally, and get along with him too.  He's living with a woman whom I get along with okay.

I'm kind of religious; but nothing involving the heavy stuff.  Actually, I'm more into nature religion, if that is something of that.  I try to keep my chakras balanced, so I do yoga and surf.

I like to travel.

Reading all this you might think I'm the most self-absorbed person on the West Coast, but this is just my atempt to be honest.  No pretense.  It is supposed to be good for the soul, whatever that is.

I'm a Padres fan, so I'm acquainted with disappointment.
